Term Two - Week Eight
Our Vision and Mission
Vision Statement
With Jesus Christ as their role model, all children can and will achieve.
Mission Statement
Inspired by Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop and in partnership with parents, our Parish and the wider community, we aim to impart a holistic education on all children in our school. We endeavour to live by the values of our school motto.
Learning, Understanding and Peace.
St Joseph’s is distinguished by a great sense of belonging, where each person is valued and where learning is enjoyable.
Prayer of the day

St Romuald
2 Corinthians 11:1-11. Your works, O Lord, are justice and truth – Ps 110(111):1-4, 7-8. Matthew 6:7-15.
Mystery of God’s kingdom
St Ignatius of Loyola suggested taking the Lord’s prayer and simply sitting with each line for a little while rather than rushing through the whole thing. Our entire life of faith is encapsulated in those few lines: the holiness of God, our longing for God’s kingdom, our trust in God’s plan, our gratitude for the daily gift of bread and life, our need for forgiveness, our struggle to forgive others, an acknowledgment of our weakness. It is no wonder that the ‘Our Father’ has oiled our creaky spiritual joints for centuries. It is a prayer that reflects the intimate relationship Jesus had with his Father. Experience is the key word. The Lord’s prayer, however familiar, repays more than a quick recital. It asks us to think about the mystery of God’s kingdom, the gritty nature of human relationships and everything in between.

SCHOOL NEWS
Pupil Free Day
Reminder tomorrow, Friday, 20th June is a Pupil Free Day. Staff will attend a Faith Formation day Facilitated by Fr Paul Devitt.
Craft Club
Craft club was very busy on Wednesday this week! The infants children had the opportunity to make their own creations out of timber off cuts and loose parts. The older children came to help (thank goodness!) and Mrs Bowman helped on the hot glue gun. The imagination of these children continues to astound me!! Could you all please check your garage or shed for any off cuts or loose parts that are left over from odd jobs that you don’t need any more?? We would love to make use of them!! Please leave any donations outside the hall or at the front office. Helpers are still needed…. Many hands make light work!! Please encourage grandparents to come along and help!! Wednesdays and Fridays 1:25-2:00pm - but please always ring the office in the morning to ensure craft club is running that day (in case of me being away or a school event is on!)

Gil Dowling: Eleven Years Boys Champion
Bill Ostini: Eleven Years Boy Runner Up
Louie Ostini: Junior Boy Champion
Ryan Murphy: Sub Junior Boys Runner Up
Adelyn Wood: Eleven Years Girls Runner Up
May Elliott: Sub Junior Girls Champion

Congratulations to these children and to all children who ran in a race or competed in a field event.
Thank you to Mrs Hough, Mrs Parmeter and the staff at St Joseph’s Manildra for a fantastic day.
We look forward to hosting the EMMY Carnival in 2026.
Southern Region Athletics
As stated in previous newsletters, St Joseph’s is hosting the Southern Region Athletics Carnival in Canowindra on Friday, 1st August. In the coming weeks we will call for volunteers to help on the day.
FROM THE REC
Confirmation
Last Sunday, four of our Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation — a special moment where they were strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and confirmed in their commitment to live as active members of the Catholic Church. Surrounded by their family and friends, the Mass was celebrated together, led by Bishop Michael and Father Augustine.
Congratulations to Georgie Bowman, Bryson Elliott, Lance Eusebio, and Dustin Lawrence for taking this important step in their faith journey. After Mass, our faith community gathered to share in a joyful morning tea celebration.

Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi is Latin for “Body of Christ”, and it is a special feast in the Catholic Church that celebrates the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist—the Blessed Sacrament.
The Feast of Corpus Christi reminds us that at every Mass, when the priest prays the words of consecration, the bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. This is not just a symbol—it is a sacred mystery at the heart of our faith.
Corpus Christi is celebrated on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, which in 2025 falls on Thursday, 19 June . However, in many countries, including Australia, the celebration is often moved to the following Sunday so more people can participate. Therefore, many communities will observe it on Sunday, 22 June 2025.
For students and families, Corpus Christi is a wonderful opportunity to grow in appreciation for the Mass and to understand that Jesus is truly with us in the Eucharist—a gift of love and spiritual nourishment.
Upcoming Masses:
- Wednesday, 25th June (Week 9): Infants Mass – 9:30 AM
- Wednesday, 3rd July (Week 10): Whole School Mass - 9:30am

STUDENT WELLBEING
Wellness/Wellbeing Survey
At St Joseph’s Molong, the wellbeing of our students and families is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to fostering a strong sense of love, care, and community across our school, and to continue doing this well, we value your voice.
Today, a Wellness Survey has been sent home with your eldest child. This survey is designed for parents and carers to complete, offering valuable insights into how our school community is feeling and functioning.
The feedback gathered will help guide our recognition of what is working well, and will inform recommendations for how we can continue to grow and improve our wellbeing practices.
We kindly ask that you complete the survey as soon as possible and return it to your child’s classroom teacher.
Thank you for your continued partnership in building a safe, nurturing and connected school community.
Your input truly helps shape the best of St Joseph’s Molong.

They can find you a nearby doctor, pharmacist, urgent care service, or even connect you to specialist virtual care.
